Pain or something like it

Have you ever tried understanding your mind's perspective on pain?

I do not feel, I expect.
I expected pain and then felt it.
I feel pain from this certain position because I am not familiar with it.
I feel pain from this certain movement because I did not like it.
I am trying to protect myself from discomfort, unfamiliarity, and anything new.
I saw someone try that movement. They fell and got hurt. I am afraid to try it.

What if you could reprogram your mind's perspective on pain?

I won't expect it, so I won't feel it.
I do not expect it and I do not feel it.
I am not afraid of this certain position because I am familiarizing myself with it.
I am not afraid of this certain movement because I enjoy trying it.
I am trying new things and I feel better every time I practice.
I saw someone try that movement. They probably fell and got hurt because they performed it without quality of movement.

Why do we experience pain?

How do we get rid of it?

Why does the brain hold on to the memory of the pain and keep sending us pain signals?

Are we, subconsciously, doing this to ourselves?

How do we fix it?

My doctor says I have an injury I can not recover from unless I perform surgery.
My doctor says my injury will go away on it's own with these pain killers.

Why do we rely on doctors to cure our source of pain?

I don't need a doctor. I need a fitness instructor.
I don't need a fitness instructor. I need a physical therapist.
I don't need a physical therapist. I need a chiropractor.
I don't need a chiropractor. I need a guru.

Why do we think we know what we need?

If I suspect pain, my mind will expect it, and my body will feel it.
Especially if my suspicions are all I know, pain is all my body expects, then pain is all my body will feel.

Right?

Our mind and body connection begins to develop at the ages of 0-3. Everything from the moment of birth to the moment we start to walk, influences the way we perceive things.

For example:

At the age of 3, I tried to touch fire. It was hot. I expect that to be dangerous. My brain wants to protect me. By the time this mind, body connection happens, I am burnt. I feel pain. My skin is damaged. I see the scar from the burn everyday. I relive it. I wire my brain to remind me that fire is dangerous and it will cause me pain. Today I am 30, and I know I never want to play with fire again because I do not want to feel the pain.

All your life, what have you learned about pain? Are you aware that your mind and body are connected? Are you aware that the way you see and expect things, aids in how you feel?

meaning, whatever you expect, you shall receive.

We say, it's not about quantity, but quality.

Think good. Expect good. Feel good.
